Gallery 709 in Montana Art and Framing presents: "The Joy of Painting", colorful mixed media expressionist acrylics by Nancy Seiler and Pamela Hansen, October 4-26, opening First Friday October 4, from 5-9 pm. Gallery 709 is at 709 Ronan Street, Missoula, Call 541-7100 for more information of check Nancy Seiler has been exploring a variety of painting and drawing techniques over the past year. Expect to see a wide variety of art applications in this show. Small Nature Journaling pieces in ink and watercolor, Expressionist oil and cold wax, Expressionist acrylic, large close-up acrylics of Montana native plants, as well as some expanded renditions of favorite acrylics. Joy, is group of paintings by Pamela Hansen that will be exhibited at Gallery 709 for the month of October. Her work celebrates the meeting of painting, collage, and texture on canvas. The result is imagery of vibrant colors, compelling symbols, and great energy.

Gallery 709 in Montana Art & Framing presents- 3 Friends, 3 Approaches. Artworks by Elloie Jeter showing the Bitterroot landscape in pastel, Bob Phinney works in oil, pastel and mono prints, and Janet Sullivan has colorful abstracted paintings of Volcanos, and Planets. In Gallery 709 in Montana Art and Framing, some original works are for sale by Walter Hook. Also available are some prints by the great Missoula artist. Fat Cats, Flat Cats, Bison, Chickens, all painted and then reproduced for everyone to enjoy. The prints are $40 to $300. We also have Hook cards of cats and other paintings for $5.00


Nancy Erickson lives in a mountain canyon near Missoula with deer, bears. and cougars, who have been there for centuries. Her fabric works reflect the connection we all have with one another, with the land, and with what is left of wildness. As in all the work Nancy does, it is the wild animals who are the seers.


Biography-Don H. Mundt
Don H. Mundt was born in Great Falls in 1952, raised in Shelby. Don grew up under Montana\'s constantly changing skies displayed over the vast prairies, with the Rockies rising up like teeth to the west and the Sweetgrass Hills to the northeast. He was given \"the spark\" to be an artist by his high school teacher and a first-hand art history lesson while serving in Europe in the Army. Upon returning home, Don received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1979 from the U of M, Missoula. In 1984 Don did post-graduate work at U of M. He also participated in a workshop with the Cowboy Artists of American in 1986. All of these experiences, as well as a love for the great outdoors, serve as a foundation for his sweeping landscapes. He was honored to exhibit his work at the Montana Governor\'s Mansion in Helena December, 1993 through February, 1994, and beginning in 1997 his paintings where exhibited in the prestigious Sutton West Gallery in Missoula with a major show of his new work every two years. He has paintings in private collections throughout the United States and in Canada, Japan and Germany. Don is currently represented by Marigold Fine Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico and sells from his own place of business in Missoula. In March 2000 he launched his website:, an internet gallery that is currently featuring his paintings as well as providing links to other Montana artist\'s sites. Don has worked as a professional picture framer for the past 30 years, while continuing to paint and exhibit his paintings in juried shows, galleries and art fairs. His storefront is called Montana Art & Framing and is located at 709 Ronan Street in Missoula, Montana.
